Off Piste 4WD Tours invites guests beyond the cellardoor and onto rugged 4WD tracks throughout the Fleurieu Peninsula where guests can truly discover the myriad of attractions that this amazing region has to offer. Guests will not only be treated to the world-class food and wine that has put this region on the map, but will also discover beautiful beaches, breathtaking coastlines and pristine bushland hidden throughout the Fleurieu.
OVERVIEW OF TOUR
The full day tour itinerary begins daily from central Adelaide at 9:30am, Glenelg at 9:50am, McLaren Vale at 10:15am from your hotel or a pre-arranged location, including Adelaide Airport. A relaxed 40-minute drive brings us to the picturesque internationally acclaimed McLaren Vale wine region. Adventure begins by exclusively exploring off-road tracks journeying through beautiful bush landscapes passing world-class vineyards, and visiting incredible ancient geological sites.
From here, guests will be taken to a secret location exclusive to Off Piste 4WD Tours for morning refreshments that will consist of cheeses served with local white and red wines and handcraft beers while taking in the captivating views across the treasured region.
Popping into a winery while visiting McLaren Vale is a must, depending on availability, guests will be entertained by a local winemaker, gain a first hand understanding of a winery’s complex operation and sample wine straight from barrel*.
We continue southwards with a unique opportunity to drive along the water’s edge of Gulf St Vincent on Silversands beach**. Passionate photographers are blessed with photo opportunities at this point on the tour capturing the timeless vista of the surrounding landscapes. Leaving the coastline, we start the climb over the Willunga Hills into Inman Valley and Second Valley via a matrix of thrilling 4WD tracks linking together an ever-changing environment. This brings up the halfway mark where we will stop for a delicious lunch catered by The Salopian Inn restaurant at a secret location exclusive to Off Piste 4WD Tours.
Along the way your guide will share aboriginal stories about the traditional lands of the Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri, the Indigenous Australians of the Fleurieu Peninsula. The tour continues to make its way into the incredible preserved bushland sanctuary of Deep Creek Conversation Park. Boasting some of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s most dramatic views, the tour will stop off at this point for afternoon refreshments overlooking Kangaroo Island, the southern coastline, its sublime beaches and the vastness of the Southern Ocean. An excellent location for photography, it is also a great opportunity to meet some of the local wildlife, including kangaroos and range of native birds. From mid May through to late October we keep a keen eye out for the spectacular Southern Right Whale.
Weather depending, we take a rugged track through a beautifully eerie bush landscape that is very unique to the southern region of the Fleurieu Peninsula. A tea and coffee stop can be arranged upon request on the return drive back to your accommodation where the adventure first began.

Sea & Vines Weekend 2013
Jeff Wright, Head brewer at Vale Ale Beer Co.
We were looking for a company to transport us between home and a few wineries on the weekend of Sea and Vines so that we could enjoy a few beverages. I contact Off Piste to see if they were free for the day. They happily picked us up from home and returned at the end of the night with 3 wineries in between. Traffic at times around McLaren Vale was frantic on the Sunday, but luckily this was a 4WD tour and Ben was able to take us on a few short cuts down fire tracks and avoided all the slow traffic. It was a great way to see the vineyards and would definitely book him again. Thanks for the day Ben!

Thank you so much for taking us out on such short notice before heading back to Melbourne. None of us really knew much about the Fleurieu and wow! Great tour, excellent service and we all can't wait to do it all again.

Fabulous trip around a unknown part of SA. 4WD through the southern Vales and out at Deep Creek was truly breathtaking. The surprise stop off with delicious canapes over looking KI was a real treat. Highly enjoyable tour.
What an amazing adventure!

My partner and I planned to fly directly to Kangaroo Island and by chance picked up an Off Piste 4WD Tour business card from Samuel's Gorge Winery. Curious, we called and booked that day. Both of us are so fortunate we did. Ben gave us a unforgettable day showing us so many wonderful things around the Fleurieu Peninsula which we had no idea about. What a beautiful part of South Australia! Wineries, wild 4WD tracks with kangaroos bouncing through the vineyards alongside the car! Amazing lunch at a restaurant Ben choose for us and got us a table that day. Very informative, and a comfortable trip with huge amount of stories and great humour. I would recommend Off Piste 4WD Tours to anyone with a sense of adventure. Good luck Ben!
